Course Description:
The food that Europeans consumed during the Medieval times is similar to the diet they maintain today and are the origins of American food. Ironically, the majority of these foods are adverse to what their religious/Biblical law permitted. Due to environment and other uncontrollable components, certain edible “things” had to be included for survival purposes. This diet structure that changed repetitiously worked against the base biological design of the human body. For Example: Black/Blood Puddings which is a sausage made of pigs blood and oatmeal.
The clothing is significant in the realm of symbolism. Many styles of clothes inculcated and also gave off the power of certain animals. This can be found with the puffy chest of certain medieval male attire that symbolized the power of the Rooster that maintained his hens. It can also be found with the headdresses of women that mimicked stags “which lowered the heads to enter the woods.” Not to forget the origins of the males arrow pointed shoes that come from crakows. Crakows are named such for their power in killing multiple cockroaches at once. Also, the womans high heels, called chopines which were 2 feet in extension. They were designed to avoid the mud and usually needed an assistant to help the lady walk.
The peasants were named “villains” which is a term for the inhabitant of a village. The village is located on the outside of the municipal kingdom where the King, Nobles and the Market was held. They were viewed as low lives that were lower than life itself. Their duties of maintaining the farm and food made them extremely exhausted. Due to the despising treatment that they endured, many uprisals and revolts took place. Their level of intelligence was enforced by the kingdom to be extremely low. In turn, this created a very hostile environment. The landlord who over saw the villages and was directly associated with Nobles and the palace was viewed as an evil, relentless man.
The hygiene and lack of health intellect enforced a wide variety of ailments and different forms of insanity. The Kings and Queens just like the peasants could not escape such degradation. There are many reports of Kings and Queens who went Mad on the throne. This review will allow us to see the details of the acts committed by the Royalty. This allowance will give a clearer definition to the phrase “absolute power corrupts absolutely.” This includes a description of what a “Tyrant” is. Queens were enforced to revolt against their confined political status in order to get a taste of “freedom.” Due to the unpredictability of European Mass Hysteria some of these women were allowed to run wild for years and some of them met the stake instantly over a lie, a false accusation or simply because they could not bear children for the king.

Learning Outcome:
The intelligence of the consumption of food and maintenance of a healthy diet will be taken as more of an importance when met with the facts of American food origins. The understanding of their ceremonial applications by name of or type of food will be rooted into how one operates on a day to day basis, relative to their intake. Clothing and its relationship to law and/or religious significance will be important in everyday operations. There is an separate unspoken language that humans use when viewing another person’s attire. In studying the Kings and Queens we will witness and be able to identify the insane rulers of today. That is, those who are fit and those who are uncappable to govern. These rulers are found in multiple locations. Everywhere from elders in the family, managers on the job or monarchs of the government or country.
